Introduction

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God
gave Him to show His servant—things
which must shortly take place"

Revelation 1:1

The word Revelation means an unveiling. The book of Revelation is an unveiling of events that will take place on earth and in heaven following the Rapture of the church.

Just as Jesus fulfilled the many Old Testament prophecies about what He would accomplish once He arrived on earth, in God's appointed time, He will also fulfill the prophecies recorded in the book of Revelation. The promises are bankable.

Revelation
Bible Study Lesson 1

In these lessons we will examine the following:

  • How Jesus will become the fulfillment of the Old Testament Feast of Trumpets and the Feast of Atonement.
  • How Christ will become the fulfillment of the Old Testament kinsman redeemer.
  • The requirements for attending the wedding feast that will take place in heaven.
  • What will take place on earth during the Tribulation period.
  • What the requirements are for experiencing man's #1 desire—inner peace.
  • How Jesus existed before time began (prior to the Creation) and how He will continue to exist beyond time.
  • How the Holy Spirit had a ministry before time began and how His ministry will continue beyond time.
  • How Christians fulfill their spiritual occupations as kings and priests.

Revelation
Bible Study Lesson 2

"He is coming...and every eye will see Him..."
Revelation 1:7

The above verse is a bankable truth. With the invention of television it is now possible for people worldwide to witness the return of the Savior.

In this lesson we will examine the following:

  • Why the apostle John referred to Jesus as the Almighty (1:8b). The most powerful force in the world is not a hydrogen bomb or an erupting volcano, but Jesus Christ and His Word. Go to the home page and click on Manna.
  • Where Christ should be positioned in the life of a Christian.
  • Why the apostle John referred to Christians as lampstands—1:12. For additional information on the lampstand go to the home page and click on Tabernacle.
  • God's formula for Christians being a positive witness for Christ.
  • Why John made special mention of the golden band that Jesus wore on His chest—1:13.
  • The purpose of Christ's two-edged sword—1:16.

Revelation
Bible Study Lesson 3

In the previous lesson we read that it was Christ's desire to be the focal point in a church. If He doesn't hold that position the body of believers will eventually evolve into nothing more than a religious club, where people with a common interest assemble.

John is given a vision of the seven churches that existed in his day. History has revealed that traits of these churches have been represented at different times throughout the Church Age. There are churches today which display spiritual fruit like the church in Ephesus, and there are others which are lukewarm like Laodicea.

In this lesson we will also see what the apostle John meant when he recorded the following phrases:

  • Tree of life—2:7
  • Crown of life—2:10
  • Hidden manna—2:17
  • White stone—2:17
  • New name—2:17

Revelation
Bible Study Lesson 4

This lesson is a continuation of the seven church ages. In this lesson we will examine the following:

  • Why it is wise for a church to check out a persons spiritual credentials before placing them in a position of authority.
  • Why Jesus labeled one church age as being both alive and dead.
  • When a believer's name is recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life. Contrary to the thinking of many Christians their name isn't recorded when they become a believer.
  • Why the apostle John views Christians as being pillars.
  • Why the activities of today's lukewarm church age often makes Jesus sick to His stomach.
  • Why John views Christ standing outside many of today's churches.

Revelation
Bible Study Lesson 5

In this lesson we find heaven's door open to receiving believers (Revelation 4:1). This was not always the case, as prior to the resurrection of Christ, believers were in the wrong spiritual condition to enter heaven. They were still in their sins—"if Christ is not risen your faith is futile; you are still in your sins"—1 Corinthians 15:17.

In this lesson we will examine an exciting event that the apostle John visualized taking place in heaven following the Rapture of the Church. That event was Jesus being the fulfillment of the Old Testament kinsman redeemer role. Until this event becomes a reality Jesus is prevented from returning to earth to usher in the Millennium reign.

In order for Jesus to qualify as our Kinsman Redeemer He had to satisfy three redemption requirements which we will examine in this lesson. This lesson gives us a deeper appreciation of what Jesus accomplished during His brief earthly ministry and gives us a clearer understanding of our salvation experience.

  • The significance of the two sounds that will be heard from heaven—thunder and the sound of harps.

  • Why there will be no gospel preached in hell and why there will be no spiritual light displayed..
  • What the dress code will be for attending the heavenly wedding and how the wedding parable recorded in Matthew 22 speaks of this requirement.
  • Why people who have a church affiliation may find themselves barred from the heavenly wedding feast.
  • There is a guest list that states who will be entitled to attend the heavenly wedding. In this lesson will discover where those names are recorded.
  • How Christ will fulfill the promise He made at the Last Supper about not drinking wine again until... This lesson will reveal when the time word until will become a reality.

Rev. Dr. Dean, Pastor- If you are looking for a man with a fresh perspective to lead your church to another level, consider inviting Jack to come in and lead a series of teaching sessions. Our church thoroughly enjoyed the time. He is competent in handling the scriptures, and has great insight about Biblical truths that are often neglected or simply not taught by design in so many of our churches today. You will not be disappointed if you embark on such a course.

Connie - I can't put the book Under the Cloud down!

David (a Sunday School teacher for Young Marrieds) - It is a great teaching resource that I know is reliable. There are specific topics that I can easily access for use in my class like "The Rock" and I especially liked the section on "Educating the Flesh."

Mary Anne - Under the Cloud is not just another man's opinion, it is all based on Scripture.

Antoinette (who has already purchased over 30 books) - As I give the book to friends and clients, I say to them "put down all the other books you are reading and read this one! I promise you Under the Cloud will change your life."

Julie - I started reading Under the Cloud yesterday and felt enveloped in love, as well as wonderful memories of being taught amazing and powerful truths through two incredible servants of God. Thank You!

Name withheld by us - I will send my husband and son off to the Middle East in Sept. for their second deployment with a copy of your book. (Likely to Afghanistan).

Karen - I am really enjoying your book. It sure is one that I will go back to. I have already marked it up.

John & Jane - We are both enjoying your book so much. Please bring us 10 more signed copies on Thursday.

Rob - My only criticism of the book is that I eventually ran out of pages.

Sally - Your book is fantastic! I just wish I had read it 20 years ago. It would have answered a lot of my questions.

Wayne - I loved the section on "Rigged Fights."
